8th graders Recognized for Achievements at Awards Assembly

Olive Vista recognized some exemplary students for their achievements in academics, service, citizenship, and attendance at an awards assembly on Tuesday, June 15th.

Olive Vista recognized many students during a special awards assembly on June 15th.
 
Brian Aguirre and Maria Palacios received the prestigious Principal's Award.  Mr. Schar explained that Maria has contributed greatly to the school.  He acknowledged her excellent academic record as well as her artwork which was used on a morale-building t-shirt given to all students as well as her artwork which was published in the yearbook.  Brian's teachers routinely express the incredible effort he routinely demonstrates in all his classes, his friendly demeanor, his inquisitive nature, his willingness to assist other students, and many other positive attributes.
 
Students received awards for each academic discipline, citizenship, and perfect attendance.
 
Students who earned a cumulative 3.0 - 3.49 GPA during their three years at Olive Vista received the Presidential Silver Award.  Students who earned a 3.5 - 4.0 cumulative GPA received the Presidential Gold Award, receiving a certificate and a gold cord to be worn at graduation.
